The backlight compensation is built in and automatic along with white balance and automatic gain control. The low light sensitivity (lux) is an amazing .01 lux allowing for perfect viewing in any light conditions.

The dome itself is completely sealed making it weatherproof and vandal proof. It also sports a dome heater and blower fan to protect the camera. It isn't an energy hog either, which will help cut down on costs, using only 40 watts of electricity with the heater on!

The only downside to this camera is that it should be used with a professional quality security system, and requires more than a simple "plug it in" installation. Because the camera is weatherproof it does use more power than cameras without a heater/blower so be sure to provide power closer to this camera. However, the benefits of this camera far outweigh the cons. The color imaging sensor alone makes this a camera worth buying. The 1/3” Sony Super HAD CCD weatherproof CCTV security camera is an excellent choice for your video surveillance and security needs.
